PEOPLE SAYING SUPER THINGS

As Super arrives at its five-year mark, Head Chef Anna Meyerhoff reflects on her time shared with the owner, Sahni Bennett, and how it has become what it is today.

Since day one, Meyerhoff has been at Super providing customers with a space of comfort to taste the Japanese and Maori fusion.

With the combination of Bennett’s and Meyerhoff’s love for food and people, the Japanese and Maori-inspired space reflects Bennett’s time in Japan. The menu builds on this and has a fresh, clean, and locally grown background.

“We are on the same page with food dreams, flavours, and techniques. We bounce off each other and grow together; it’s awesome,” said Meyerhoff.

Meyerhoff is an experienced chef of fifteen years and finds every meal produced at Super is a joy to cook.

Outside of the kitchen the two are friends and, every Matariki, the duo gratefully shares and honours the time to feast and celebrate with close friends and family.

Moving forward, Meyerhoff hopes to grow continuously and inspire, saying, “To remain inspired by all the incredible kai Papatūānuku continuously has to offer.”

Super is brewing a new menu labelled, ‘Super Durrty’, which will be something to look forward to.
